KLM has carried 30.4 million passengers last year — a new record. This is an increase of 6.4% compared to 2015. The increase was highest on European routes (7.8%), where the airline  carried more than 20 million passengers for the first time. Load factor rose slightly by 0.8 of a percentage point compared to 2015.
– The fact that customers appreciate our efforts is not only expressed in our improved customer satisfaction rating, but also in the increasing number of passengers we carried, which exceeded 30 million for the first time this year. A great milestone. In 2016, we added a total of 14 new destinations to our network. Thus further expanding our market position, said Pieter Elbers – KLM President & CEO
Elsewhere, the 2016 Punctuality Report issued by OAG concluded that KLM had the best on-time performance among European airlines, ranking 3rd worldwide.
KLM Cargo
At KLM Cargo traffic was down 9.8% and capacity down 8.3%. There was  a slight improvement in December, which may be a sign that the tide is changing.
