The new route is in response to Russia being one of the World’s most visited tourist destinations*, home to renowned architectural wonders including Saint Basil’s Cathedral.

From historical architectural wonders to more modern creations, Moscow also has the accolade of being home to the highest skyscraper in Europe, the Federation Tower, within the Moscow International Business Center, completed just this year.

This week, has seen Aeroflot announced as Europe’s best airline by respected industry magazine Business Traveller at their awards for Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. Aeroflot also secured first place in the categories for Best Business-Class on Mid-Range Flights and Best Airline in Russia and CIS at the awards.

Gatwick Airport, Chief Commercial Officer Guy Stephenson said:

– Moscow is a fantastic new addition to Gatwick’s route network joining an impressive line-up of new destinations from Gatwick, including China, Peru, Canada, Costa Rica, Nigeria, South Africa and the United States.  We’re delighted to be providing this new daily connection to Russia for both our business and leisure passengers — starting in just over six weeks.”
