The first WIZZ flight took off from Poland, Katowice, in May 2004 and since then Wizz Air has continuously increased its network of low-fare routes for its Polish customers. One of the largest airlines in Poland, Wizz Air has now 20 aircraft based in the country, including the ultra-efficient, state-of-the-art 230-seat Airbus A321.

Wizz Air offers a total of 131 routes to 24 countries from Poland, with fares on many routes starting at PLN 39* providing affordable access between Poland and the rest of Europe and beyond for both business and leisure travelers.  The airline has recently started operations from its 8th Polish airport, Olszytn-Mazury Airport. Wizz Air’s commitment to the Polish customers is underlined by the constant development of its network as well: the newest WIZZ services connect the country with such exciting destinations as Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Reykjavik in Iceland, Porto in Portugal or Alghero on the island of Sardinia.

Some 800 Wizz Air colleagues in Poland look forward to welcoming ever more passengers on board WIZZ’s Polish flights, which this year will support more than 4,500 jobs in associated industries throughout Poland**.

Gabor Vasarhelyi, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said:

– We are thrilled to celebrate this memorable milestone in Poland, the country of Wizz Air’s very first flight. During 12 years of Polish operations, over 45 million passengers flew with WIZZ from one of our eight Polish airports to discover new opportunities and gain new experiences. We now connect Poland with 58 cities including such exciting holiday destinations as Dubai, Reykjavik or Porto.  We thank each of our loyal Polish customers for choosing us and we are committed to continuing to offer our lowest fares paired with an excellent onboard experience and expanding our ever-growing network with even more attractive services. Our Polish local crew looks forward to welcoming you on board a WIZZ flight with a smile!”
